a friend gave me a airbrush a few days ago. i am having problems with it tho. when i have no paint in the cup( siphon fed) the air blows out perfectly but as soon as i put paint or even water in it, it starts to spurt very very bad. i do not know what kind of air brush it is tho. any tips on what could be wrong?

Sounds like a blocked paint flow valve or misadjusted paint flow valve. Probably clogged up with paint.
