Has any one installed and are using the new Atlas **** Code 83 Mark IV #8 Turnouts?
Our Club is in the process of upgrading our lower level and we use # 8 code 83 track for our mainline and I would appreciate any comment.

Instead of putting down some more expensive out of scale turnouts, why not try laying some of your own? They`re not hard to build and look a lot better than any of the ready to run stuff that is out there.

Jeff and Bob
These Code 83 number eight (#8) switches are just out. They look a lot different that the Mark III. They are a lot cheaper than Walthers Shinohara or microscale switches. We do use # 8 Shinohaha switches. They work great except for the curved switches.
I have made hand laid track and switches. I have a dozen or more that will have to be built and the commercial switch has tie plates and spike heads, tie plates and spike heads are hard to hand lay.
Thank you for your comments.

And there are those among us who are paranoid enough not to open any attachment, even if it is (probably) in HTML.

What is the sound of one HTML message hitting the bit bucket?

I assume that you are trying to say that if you don`t want to receive attachments, you should be using HTML. If this is what you mean, then you are wrong. HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) is a method of enhancing the display of a page and it is what allows for scripts and ActibeX stuff to be run and that little sublevel of hypertext allows for others to write stuff on your computer without your knowledge or acceptance.

such, fancy stuff like HTML and so forth is usually discouraged as it does several things: 1 Enlarges the space needed to store the text on the servers. 2. Makes things difficult to read. Try a pink background with purple text for understanding what I mean. Or try Chocalate brown with medium brown for another stupid choice that I`ve seen.

and/or clever with the use of formatting of that info.

need for and no justification for HRML; and there are other areas to post binaries.
