How To Get Your Child Into Model Building

I love to hear about someone willing to get a child involved in model building.

I can tell you what really got me interested in model building when I was about 8 years old.

My dad came home with a model of a working car engine, that really operated, to put together, and it was see-through so you could see all the moving parts. I found one on eBay and have the address for it right here.

It is something that, unless the child is very astute, you will have to help him with it. This is what really lit the fire under me at that age. The model is a little pricy, but it can start the child on a great journey that can lead into Radio-control models and can be a life long passion; as it has been for me, and I am 51 years old. I love it so much that I have a store selling radio-controlled planes and accessories.

You can then get the child involved in building by themselves by offering models made by REVELL from boats, cars, planes, tanks. Pretty much anything.

I hope this helped you and please let me know what you decide and how it goes for you.

Thanks for using model buzz.
