New to the modeling hobby after 30 years and boy have things changed. I attempted to thin a bottle of Polly Scale paint with regular Enamel Thinner. I then noticed when i used it it would not adhear very well to the plastic. (i was using a brush not an air brush) I then read around and it looks like Polly Scale needs to be thinned with a special thinner or maybe even just water or windex. So did i just ruin a bottle of Polly Scale because I used regualr enamel thinner? Was this my problem with the paint going on smooth? Is using an enamel thinner a no no with Polly Scale paints? Thanks.

Oh, noooo...!!! Thrillofthechase, mate; Polly Scale is an acrylic type of paint. Therefore, you will surely ruin the properties of that kind of paint by thinning acrylics with enamel thinner, as acrylics ought to be thinned with water. Somewhere I read professional modellers thin acrylics using mineral spirits, but I've never tried it for myself.

The few times I used Polly S paints, I thinned 'em down using either Polly S thinner or their Acryl airbrush thinner product, which is even better.
