Can anyone help me with the details of a supplier of screw connectors to suit the pcb connectors on tortoise switch machines. I seem to remember a review of such a product appearing in MR in the last 12 months but cannot find it. Any help would be appreciated.

I recall an article but not the details Ron. I`ve tried several approaches and have settled on: Solder wires to the Tortoise connector (I`ve tried card edge connectors and found inconsistent reliability - probably because I never found the right one. They do get pushed off the Tortoise... terminate the above wires to a terminal block at a convenient location - either a barrier terminal block or the Eurostyle block should work fine. The Eurostyle doesn`t require the addition of crimp on terminals so I feel it is more reliable and quicker to apply.

terminals in this size but you can get crimp pcb connectors which are ideal for the job.
You need JYK type P3960-08 straight pin headers to solder to the tortoise, JYK type H3960-08 crimp terminal housings and for each wire a JYK type T3960-02 crimp terminal.
In small numbers the crimp terminals can be fixed with pliers and solder but if doing a lot its best to get the crimp tool.
Prices from Rapid Electronics in UK pounds are: header 0.48 each housing 0.20 each terminals 3.00 per 100 much less in quantity crimp tool 17.50

We sell the edge connectors for the Tortoise machines. These are high quality connectors that fit the board tightly. The price is $3.50 each.

Our club OMRS uses Molex connectors. http://home.att.net/~omrs/
We solder the header streight or right angle to the Tortoise switch machine.
Molex 09-50-3081 .156" Terminal Housing 8 Pins WM2106-ND DigiKey Molex 26-48-1081 .156" Header Stright 8 Pins WM4406-ND DigiKey Molex 26-48-1082 .156" Header Right Angle 8 Pins WM4506-ND DigiKey
Also MRR PCB uses them to make connections to their product line.
Hope this helps

This looks like a great solution, but on my Tortoise machines, the holes are in alternating rows -- do you bend the pins on the connectors, or drill new holes?
Thanks!

We solder the Molex connector directly to the Tortoise.
We solder the short end of the Molex connector over the holes. We use a straight or 90 degrees depending on the installation.
