I think I'll build a Super Cub over the winter. I've done a few searches but haven't found anything in the .65 motor range (80" wing?).... I don't want to get much bigger than this for $$ and transportation reasons.

Can anyone give me a name or two of sources for a super cub kit in this size range?

I just checked my Unionville Hobby catalog. They have an 84" Cub J-2 for a .35 -. 60 2c or .45 - .65 4C engine, but no Super Cub kit. I might have been thinking of their Turbo Beaver kit....

Anyway, I built one of their small (72" Beavers last winter and I love it!
It flies very well with a .40 2C. Nice kits at a great price. With the
Canandian/American dollar exchange rate, it's a bargain price.

Good luck in your search

I'll check these sources out, thank you... the one I get the most hits on is a 1/4 scale arf with a 100" wingspan. The cost of that one and the necessary motor puts the price on the high side for my type of flying.....

I did take a look at Tower and a couple of other big name hobby stores but couldn't find any in the 80" range...

The Great Planes Cub can be built as a Super Cub. They offer the cowl and instructions on what to change. A friend has one and it looks great. I think it is a 76 inch wing and can handle a 60.

Look at SIG's LT40 with a OS46FX engine and a Hitec 4 channel radio.
Should have fun with that plane for years.

Thank you, Bob... I'll include that in my list. I've just kind of started this line of thought, and I might go with a look-a-like... Whatever I pick it won't be yellow..<g>..

This all started with the flight simulator, FMS. They have a neat looking white super cub with red/blue accents which really caught my eye.
